I'm keeping busy today..

A whole bunch of my girlfriends met up in Melbourne this weekend & are flat out catching up, shopping, drinking & eating! 4 of my favourite things to do! I just couldn't swing it and I'm sad. How I wish I could be there.... *sigh* next time...

So to keep my jealousy at bay (!) I have a busy weekend with shoots, dinner with friends, clean up around the house & an afternoon of tennis tomorrow :o) Nice.

He came at the perfect time!

Charmaine rang me some weeks ago to book in for a newborn shoot, but my scheduled May Perth visit was right when she was due! So we had her booked in for May & then tentatively booked in for June "just in case". Well, little Matieus arrived 2 weeks early & so just perfect timing for my May visit :D

and this is big brother Xavier :o) Poor love was teething, but he coped so well! Look at his gorgeous eyes!

Zali had to do a poetry recital today. She did so well! :D One very proud Mummy here this morning :o)

This is Josh from Saturday mornings session. With thunderstorms threatening we headed out to the local park & Josh discovered honky nuts. As we were driving home the heavens just opened! What great timing :o)

Home Again...

It was a quick trip!
I got home yesterday afternoon on Mothers Day (here in Australia) & was greeted to a smiling husband, clean house, hot cup of coffee & sleeping kids! :D After the kids woke up I was bombarded with presents - very spoilt!! Then Ren took them outside while I crashed for a hour or so, then they took me out for dinner! Was just lovely :o) To top it off, that morning I had turned up to my clients place & was presented with flowers! How lovely is that? Thank you so much Sean, Megan, Bella & Milly :o) You made me feel really special :o) xx

I hope everyone else was spoilt & made to feel extra specially loved! :o)

So back to the weekend. Friday I headed to Perth & straight around to "my twins" for their one year photo's, here is just a quick sneak peak as I get my head around this crazy week I have ahead!

I can't believe it has been a year since I started photographing these two! It has just gone by so unbelievably fast.

Green Frog :D

Last Saturday Ren came & helped me install my first display in a commercial space at the Green Frog (on the corner of Bayly St & Chapman Rd for any locals that have been hiding under a rock lately!!)

The ladies there let me put up 6 big images, thank you so much!

This series are above the counter as you walk in the door:-

On the north wall, to the right as you walk in...

Green Frog is a locally owned & run business, stocking up to size 7 with rumors they might extend that? They have some absolutely GORGEOUS stuff in there!!

OPAM: May 08: Completed!

My One Project a Month (OPAM) for May is finished! :o)

Some pics...
As you walk in the door, my drawers to the right, my shoe cupboard straight ahead & my beside table. I should have had the maid (Ha! oh yes, that would be me wouldn't it?!) straighten the bed BEFORE I took the photo!

Our bed. The picture Ren gave me maybe 8? years ago. It was always meant to hang above our bed, but this is the first time it actually has done so!

We have so much furniture in our house (& still have storage issues! The joys of old houses!!) so in an attempt to soften all the wood I added a few soft furnishings....
Like mohair rugs - these are actually the kids rugs & they use them on their beds in summer, with winter here & the doona back on their beds these would normally be stored in a cupboard. Come summer again when they use them I will just *have* to redecorate! ;oP

The little cabinet to the right is our medicine cabinet. Some perfumes. Zali & Fynn releasing balloons. Under the glass "jar" is an evening bag a good friend gave me some 10+ years ago (so girly!). Shells from our wedding day...

My bedside lamp I got when I was 8? yrs old. My most favourite perfume. My tin money box from when I was a little girl :o) and a picture of my youngest sister when she was maybe 3? I don't know why inparticular, but I just love it!

So there you go! All done! Cluttered with furniture & all... but NO purple in sight! Georgie would be proud!!!

I'm heading to Perth tomorrow to do 4 shoots! Driving back on Sunday (Mothers Day) to hopefully spend a few hours with the kids!

Will try & post before I go, but if I don't have a wonderful weekend!

Cheeky Monkey!

She so was too! Walking since she was 9 months old, little Madison knows how to love life :D Kids like this are just fantastic! I love their lease on life, their no holds barred attitude, all their different facial expressions, just busy, busy, busy... they put a smile on my face :o) Here is just a couple, but I will definitely have more to share from this session.

Update on the OPAM :o)
Room is painted. Furniture still EVERYWHERE! Ren is going to put up the picture rails today & hope to also get the furniture back in.... maybe! We very nearly got too keen & started to paint the kitchen last night, but with Fynn having a party to attend to yesterday afternoon we decided we were probably being a little too ambitious for one weekend! So it's been put on hold.... hopefully not for 2 years though like the bedroom! Maybe it could be our June OPAM?....

Have to get a start on processing the session above, but this morning I was in Green Frog (kids boutique on corner of Bailey St & Chapman Rd) taking photo's of my new displays in there! We installed 5 gorgeous images over the weekend! Can't wait to share them with you :D

OPAM: May '08

Inspired by Tara!

I need to get my backside into gear about updating the paint work in our house! To say it is embarrassing would be an understatement! We bought our house 8 years ago. I was 23. I loved bright colours & yep I went crazy! *blush* 4 years on I hated it & slowly I have done a few rooms... ok well just the kids room (typical how they always get priority!!) & we did the lounge probably 2 years ago now (where does time go!).

SO! When Tara mentioned this OPAM project, I thought gee, I really should get on board with that & pull my finger out! I have been moaning about it for years, but no more so than to my friend Amanda lately as she has been SO good at re-painting lots of her house lately. Well finally, yesterday afternoon after days of mental preparation in my head I said to Ren "I'm going to start painting the bedroom"! Poor man! It was a bit out of left field for him!!!!

So, we started yesterday at 4.30pm, moved ALL the furniture out. The downside of having an old, small house, everything seems to end up being stored in our bedroom! Like the beanbag I use for my newborn photo's.... it's huge & it takes up so much room, but I just have no where else to put it *sigh* Anyway, so we get all that done, get the kids fed & I just start to get to work on the ceiling & then there is a major accident down the highway & Ren gets called out to help :o( (He didn't get home until midnight & it just sounded horrific :o( might have to go back in today to continue help cleaning up :o( ) So anyway, I got all the cutting in done & most of the priming for the windows, door & skirting boards.! :D

Ren just needs to roller the ceiling for me this morning. Then I can roller the walls, finish priming the skirting boards & gloss the windows, door & boards & we will be done! :D

I tell you the biggest saving grace is the new one coat wall paint! We've had & used the one coat ceiling paint before, but never the one coat wall paint! :D Wow!! :D :D

Here is the only photo I have on my computer of our bedroom, but it does show the walls *cringe shudder*!

Anyway, in a few hours it will be GONE! G.O.N.E.!! :D

Will take an after photo tomorrow when the gloss has dried & we are all moved back in - hopefully! Let me tell you there are no Sunday sleep-ins when you sleep in the lounge room! Normally we can fob the kids off to the TV & cartoons for a good hour before they pester us to get up.... bit hard when you are sleeping in front of the TV!!!!!! :D

This is Fynn All Over!

How COOL are they?!!!! From Spoon Sisters Fynn would absolutely FLIP over them! Damn it, Ren & I flipped over them ROFL!!! :D :D

Fynn started back at swimming lessons today - loved it - yay! :D Happy Mummy! :D
Lots of little projects going on behind the scenes atm - will reveal more as & when I can :o)
In the meantime, April & our glorious weather is definitely upon us! I have 6 bookings in the next 2 weeks, the PERFECT time to have your photo's taken :D Am hoping to take on a lot more this year with Fynn in school 2 days a week now & going full time next year, so don't hesitate to contact me if you would like me to capture your family, or even just your kids alone :o)

She lost her first...

TOOTH! :D :D

and she is so incredibly proud of herself!
She was actually at a sleepover at friends when Lisa rang me to say that she had lost it! *argh* typical! First tooth & I have been waiting & waiting (don't forget it IS all about me ;oP)!! So I asked Lisa to write her a note explaining that the Tooth Fairy only visits when you're sleeping in your own bed! The next evening, I typed out another note explaining why she couldn't come the night before, but congratulations & "you're such a big girl now" etc. I was exhausted so left it on the kitchen table for PAPA Tooth Fairy (aka Ren!) to attend to & headed off to bed.

Morning comes.
We are both asleep. Then Fynn is in our bed. Then we hear Zali pattering down the hallway & Ren's eyes just POP ")&#()*&"! I'm like "what?" R: "I forgot to do the tooth" C: "Well you better get out to the kitchen table because it's all sitting there still"! Ren flies out of bed as Zali comes in thru the door devastated that the Tooth Fairy didn't visit :o( !! Obviously she was WAY too busy, too many teeth to attend to & maybe she might come tomorrow night? Yes that was fine *phew*!

So she did eventually come. We can't believe we failed the tooth fairy on our very FIRST go!!!!! What hope do we have?!!

Then this morning she found another loose tooth. So she is SO excited all over again! Can't wait to collect some more cash even after I reminded her "don't forget the Tooth Fairy said you won't get as much next time"!!!!

Photographers Kids. You think?!

My kids think it is now hilarious to run & hide behind my back if my camera so much as points in their direction! So what is one to do? Throw your arm over your shoulder, camera in hand, click & hope for the best!!!! I love it. It is so *them* atm.

Yesterday afternoon we went down the beach as you can tell from the image above. Gosh it was beautiful. It really is such a magical time of the year here atm.

I don't know about this tag - these will probably 6 things I would actually prefer people didn't know about me! and besides, am I even that interesting? Do I even HAVE 6 quirks?!

Let's see.
Here goes....

1. I struggle to sit idle. Or for that matter walk, run, do anything with my brain idle. I am happy to do anything as long as my brain is thinking, challenged, concentrating... anything. I don't do idle!

2. I clean my ears after every shower. When Ren & I first got together he started doing it too because he thought that I would think he was dirty if he didn't!!!! Ha! Young love! :D

3. I just asked Ren to help me & he reckons if my eyes are itchy or sore I rub them so hard it looks like I am about to push them into my head!!!! HA HA HA!!!! Shall we go on?!!

4. I am superstitious when it comes to railway lines. I absolutely, positively, ALWAYS lift my feet when we go over a railway line. I can't remember the last time I didn't!

5. My bedspread/quilt is always white - I change things up by changing my cushions, but my bedspread always has to be white!

6. So we're sitting here trying to think of another 'quirky habit' and Ren says "if you had six quirky habits, you'd be *ahem* a nut job" so I am thinking I should stop right about now?!

Actually a perfectly good sleep-in & a day with my family would do me just fine! As it happens I will be in Perth working, while Ren & the kids will be here at home! I scheduled shoots on that weekend before I realised it was Mothers Day! How typical is that?!! We are OBVIOUSLY ;o) going to have to celebrate a Sunday early AND a Sunday late just to make up!!!

We love you so very much & never more so than when you sneak into our bed for a morning snuggle. Such a beautiful way to start our day.

Happy 4th Birthday my sunshine boy! :D

We spent the morning with family, then headed down the park & had morning tea & a play with friends :o) About to head out for dinner of his choice. His party is Friday & between then & now I hope to steal 30 minutes with him to take some "I'm 4 now" photo's! :D
